Free MP3

June 9, 2006

Just as a curiosity I wanted to have a site where I could find any MP3 for free, no sign up, no login and no other junk, just free. Yeah I know about Frostwire, Limewire, Bearshare and all the rest, But what if your at someones house and you really want to let them hear this really great song but they dont want you installing any software! well I finally found it. Its better than E-MP3finder, Its faster than mp3shits and it has no logins unlike musicjustfree! The winner is!!!

Recommended Firefox Extensions!

May 25, 2006

I have been a strong supporter of firefox from the beginning. I always liked their open, customizable interface, after a while i have amassed a list of extensions and decided to share my list. There are many lists of personally recommended extensions and I will try to recommend a few. Enjoy and hope to hear your comments as this is one of my first real blogs.

Ok, on the the extensions, In alphabetical order

(PS: Please take note that for your Convenience all of the extensions names eg, "Adblock Plus" are links to the extension pages)

1. Active Stop Button

What the author has to say:
Make Stop Button be never inactive (allowing, for example, stop gif animation by mouse click not only Esc key) and Stop All Tabs on right click.

What I have to say:
Personally I'm not sure weather i "really" use this but nevertheless i still have it!

2. Adblock Plus (not to be confused with Adblock Plus!)

What the author has to say:
Ever been annoyed by all those ads and banners on the Internet that often take longer to download than everything else on the page? Install Adblock Plus now and get rid of them. Right-click on a banner and choose "Adblock" from the context menu – the banner won't be downloaded again. Or open Adblock Plus sidebar to see all elements of the page and block the banners. You can use filters with wildcards or even regular expressions to block complete banner factories.

What I have to say:
Confusing, no? when you goggle adblock plus you end up with links to the original adblock's site but none to the "real" Adblock Plus. Now there is nothing wrong with adblock original, but adblock plus has taken up where the original has left off.

3. AI Roboform (This Extension is NOT free)

What the author has to say:
RoboForm is Top-rated Password Manager and Web Form Filler that completely automates password entering and form filling.

Features:
– Memorizes your passwords and Logs You In automatically.
– Fills long registration and checkout forms with one click.
– Encrypts your passwords to achieve complete security.
– Generates random passwords that hackers cannot guess.
– Backs up your passwords, Copies them between computers.
– Gives you one set of bookmarks and passwords for
IE, Firefox, Mozilla, AOL, MSN, Avant, MaxThon browsers.

What I have to say:
I love this extension! it is really handy to use, remembers my Trillian, Webpage, login passwords and more! It really stinks that it's not free but HERE is a link that might help!:-)

4. BugMeNot

What the author has to say:

Bypass compulsory web registration via Firefox’s right-click context menu. Compatible with Mozilla and current Firefox releases. Visit bugmenot.com for full details of their service.

Features: multiple login attempts, failure reporting, and auto-submittal

BugMeNot is finally compatible with bugmenot.com. You can all thank Dmytri Kleiner for its success. He is an extremely talented coding guru who whipped this thing back into shape.

You can change various settings in the extensions’ options menu if you use Firefox. Mozilla and Netscape’s auto-fill and auto-submit are on by default.

Important Changes: The context menu has been changed to now only show the BugMeNot option if you right-click in a username or password text field, to help cut down context menu bloat.

What I have to say:
This is a very useful extension, but as of recently they have totally phased out paying sites logins, which reduces it usefulness to about 1/3 of it's effectiveness

5. Cute Menus – Crystal SVG

What the author has to say:
Not Much!

What I have to say:
I'm not sure it makes me more productive but it sure makes my menu's more pleasant to look at!

6. Downthemall ("down the mall" or "down them all")

What the author has to say:
Why do we have to load a slow external download manager/accelerator, when we can just have DownThemAll inside Firefox?

DownThemAll lets you download all the links or images contained in a webpage and much more: you can refine your downloads by fully customizable criteria to get only what you really want.
DownThemAll is all you can desire from a download manager: it features an advanced accelerator that increases speed up to 400%, it allows you to pause and resume downloads at any time and, last but not least, it's fully integrated into your favorite browser!

No AdWare, no waits. Just the files you want, in a click.

What I have to say:
It drastically increases my download times and can also mass download files like all the picture on the page of say car show pictures, or download all selected links on this page!

7. Forecastfox Enhanced

Enhanced version of the popular Forecastfox extension (forecastfox.mozdev.org) by Jon Stritar and Richard Klien. This adds 12 improved radar images and the ability to supply a URL for your own radar image. It also allows for pausing, restarting and setting the frequency of automatic updates. All of the other amazing features of this extension are by Jon and Richard.

You must uninstall Forecastfox and any versions of Forecastfox Enhanced prior to 0.8.5 before installing this.

What I have to say:
If you like to have the weather forecast, an animated radar, weather alerts and more this plugin rocks!

8. IE Tab

IE Tab – an extension from Taiwan, features: Embedding Internet Explorer in tabs of Mozilla/Firefox.

This is a great tool for web developers, since you can easily see how your webpage displayed in IE with just one click and then switch back to Firefox.

What I have to say:
Ever gone to a page and gotten an error saying "This page can only be viewed in IE" or something like that. Well with this extension you can just click on the IE Tab button and it makes the tab your in an IE tab. I love it!

9. OpenNewWindowFromHere

Open a new browser window/tab from current url location

<Picture Should go Here!>

What I have to say:
The name says it all, really, it does!

10. PDF Download

Allows to choose if you want to view a PDF file inside the browser (as PDF or HTML), if you want to view it outside Firefox with your default or custom PDF reader, or if you want to download it!

What I have to say:
It gives you the option to open, save or view in HTML the PDF you're trying to view, Handy Plugin!

11. Scrapbook

ScrapBook is a Firefox extension, which helps you to save Web pages and easily manage collections. Key features are lightness, speed, accuracy and multi-language support. Major features are: Save Web page; Save snippet of Web page; Save Web site; Organize the collection in the same way as Bookmarks tree; Full text search and quick filtering search of the collection

What I have to say:
Used to be my most used extension, but I switched to bookmarks because of exporting the list to html

12. SearchStatus

Display the Google PageRank and Alexa popularity score anywhere in your browser, along with fast keyword density analyser, backward/related/category links, Alexa info etc.

What I have to say:
Display the Google PageRank and Alexa popularity score, Just a curiosity

13. Slim Extension List

Makes items in extension list shorter, so you can see more at once. Also, sorts them by name (optionally).

What I have to say:
Love this Extension!, makes organizing at my extensions far easier, Also alphabetizes them

14. Spellbound

SpellBound is a port of the spell checker code and user interface from the Mozilla Suite's Composer that enables spell checking in web forms such as html textarea / input elements (html input password elements are not checked by SpellBound) and rich text form elements. This allows you to spell check forms (e.g. message board posts, blog entries, wysiwyg, etc.) before submitting them when using your Mozilla Firefox or Mozilla Suite browser.

What I have to say:
VERY useful! I am actually using this extension as i am writing this blog. also Spell checking will be integrated in Firefox 2.0

15. Stumbleupon
StumbleUpon lets you "channelsurf" the best-reviewed sites on the web. It is a collaborative surfing tool for browsing, reviewing and sharing great sites with like-minded people. This helps you find interesting webpages you wouldn't think to search for.

What I have to say:
Free Registration required but well worth it! another MUST HAVE

16. SuperDragAndGo

Drag a link or anything like a uri (e.g. "abc.com" ), and throw it to anywhere blank on the webpage to open the it in a new tab.

<picture should go here>
What I have to say:
No sure if i use this? Maybe! :This is one of my favorite extensions. It's too bad Super Dragandgo is no longer being updated by the developer:<Quoted from another post>

17. Tab Mix Plus

Tab Mix Plus enhances Firefox's tab browsing capabilities. It includes such features as duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, plus much more. It also includes a full-featured session manager with crash recovery that can save and restore combinations of opened tabs and windows.

What I have to say:
Defectively Replaces TabX as it has the option built in, Also a million other features. Yet again, a MUST HAVE, also The TabX theory will be integrated in Firefox 2.0

18. Tweak NetworkHomepage

Firefox has a couple of hidden network settings. With this extension, you can tweak these settings, and you might be able to speed up the loading of web pages. You can also increase the maximum number of simultaneous downloads from a site (the default is only four).

Instead of changing each setting, you can also choose one of two profiles. The Power profile increases the maximum number of connections and turns on pipelining. The Default profile will reset the settings to the save, default values.

What I have to say:
Drastically increases browsing speed. Necessary Extension

Hope you've enjoyed my post, comments and ideas Welcomed!
